Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a custom made device that is used to help realign a patient’s teeth. Similar to things like braces and retainers, the Invisalign device is clear for less conspicuous teeth realignment. Invisalign liners are custom made for each patient with a computer using molds taken from your mouth. These liners can be removed to help do things like eat, brush, and floss and to avoid damage to the actual device.

Why do you need Invisalign?

Invisalign liners are a great alternative to traditional metal braces and other realignment devices. The one benefit users seem to enjoy the most is the sheer convenience of using Invisalign liners. Since patients can remove the custom-made liners to perform daily and oral healthcare tasks, Invisalign makes realigning your teeth as easy as possible. Being clear means people are much less likely to notice the Invisalign liner, making them especially appealing to younger patients and those worried about the stigma that can be associated with traditional braces.

What makes you a good candidate for Invisalign?

While Invisalign custom liners work really well for many patients, it may not be right for everybody. If you have more serious alignment issues, Invisalign may not be the best choice for you.In some cases, the jaw itself may need to be adjusted or the Invisalign liners are not strong enough for the major shifts that need to be done in your mouth. For less severe issues like mildly crooked teeth, overcrowding of teeth, and mild overbites, Dr. Lisa Wang may suggest using Invisalign clear liners.

What happens during the procedure for Invisalign?

The procedure to receive Invisalign alignment liners is pretty easy and painless. Dr. Lisa Wang will discuss your oral issues with you and set up a plan to help realign your teeth. Your custom liners will be created using molds taken of your teeth. This liner will be switched out about every two weeks until alignment is complete.
